I have walked with Anthea for a number years now and thoroughly enjoy both the places we visit and the company of other walkers who are now good friends. Anthea is very caring and mindful of the health and safety issues which can beset a group with varying health problems. She is not beyond giving us challenges to keep up our fitness. We visit cafes and hostelries for coffee after walks and there have been many holidays. I went to Edinburgh and discovered lots of places I had not visited before. We also attend social gatherings such as bring and share lunches.

I have found Nordic walking most therapeutic. I love being out in the countryside walking with a group and find it both mentally and physically stimulating. Anthea is a most caring leader and does all she can to cope with our many needs.

Anthea's walks are fabulous and I so enjoy walking with her. The routes are mainly local and very varied and interesting. Anthea kindly gave me a refresher and now I am enjoying using my Nordic walking poles. I can recommend her walks highly.
Thank you Anthea,

AW

When I first started Nordic Walking I had to force myself to buy the poles and start a monthly payment as I needed to prevent myself from dropping out. I was never a keen walker, however with the help of Anthea I have discovered how enjoyable Nordic walking can be. Each week I find myself in some venue I did not know and had no idea how wonderful public footpaths can be. With Anthea’s help and support we have become a friendly and caring group. "Walking with Anthea is a highlight of my week. She is a caring and considerate walk leader who is hugely knowledgeable about routes, flora and fauna and always brings something surprising to every walk. I really appreciate that all walks happen whatever the weather and to perfect timing.
Anthea's groups are full of interesting, like-minded people who it is always a pleasure to walk with. I could not recommend A Foot in the Chilterns highly enough."

I have been walking with A Foot In The Chilterns since 2017 and it has become a big part of the well being of my life ever since.
I joined to exercise in the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern countryside but have gained so much more - meeting wonderful people along the way plus some very well behaved dogs!
Anthea has an impressive knowledge of nature & the local history of this stunning landscape so you cannot help but be enthralled plus enjoy some wonderful independent & sustainable hostelries along the way!
As if that is not enough Anthea's’ background as an occupational therapist makes the perfect combination of safety and encouragement that no matter what your ability you will benefit .
It is important to add that during the Covid 19 pandemic both Anthea and Bridget have maintained a robust risk assessment protocol to enable those who are able to continue to exercise and benefit from both fitness & social interaction which is such a key part of life . I look forward to many more fun times with A Foot In The Chilterns !

I have walked with Anthea since 2015 and really enjoy being part of her very friendly group of Nordic walkers. Anthea has shown us so many beautiful walks around Henley which I would not otherwise have discovered, as well as further afield in the Chilterns. She has a good selection of walks each week when we benefit from her excellent local knowledge, and she regularly organises longer walks and trips to interesting places. We have walked the Shakespeare Way, the Oxfordshire Way and the Chiltern Way with her and her organisational skills in arranging these are second to none! Nordic walking is an excellent way to keep fit, and so enjoyable being out in the lovely countryside with good company. Anthea has taken us to the UK Nordic walking Festival in Dorset, and also organised walking holidays for us in the Lake District and Austria. This year we are going to Edinburgh for a week. I have made some very good friends since joining A Foot in the Chilterns and would highly recommend Nordic walking with Anthea.

I have Nordic walked with A Foot in the Chilterns with Anthea for many years now since 2012. I regularly enjoy fantastic walks in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside together with great company on the walks and we get both good guidance and advice from Anthea as well as a wealth of local knowledge. There are also opportunities for map reading courses, first aid courses, sponsored walk events together with organised walking holidays in the Lake District, Dorset and most recently in 2018 Austria. Altogether it is a fabulous group to join and I have made many life long friends within this group whilst maintaining a regular good level of fitness. Well worth trying!

Jane

Hi there, thank you both for the excellent map reading and use of compass session last week it was very helpful. I too have certainly gained a lot from the Nordic Walking, and feel my fitness has improved, and appreciate the good company of fellow walkers and all the encouragement that you give.
